Marine Paintings, Portraits and Figurative Paintings of life on or near the Sea

Represented exclusively by Mystic Seaport...America's Museum of the Sea

Most Marine artists have interests ashore! Mine happens to be people. I like painting
images of persons caught in thought, quiet moments and postures that cause you to
stop and wonder what are they thinking?

Like millions of Americans I remain grateful to Bill Clinton for his service to the country and his work to make our nation a better place for all.

When I saw the Robert McNeely photograph in the recent book "The Clinton Years"  I knew I had found a way to say thank you.

The 28" x 22" oil on panel is nearly completed and it is taking on the look and feel of something I can feel proud about creating.   I have been giving some thought to images on the outside but I believe I will allow it to remain as is, just simple sunlight streaming into the White House. Something the Bush administration could use a good dose of, but alas, I'm not a politician, just a simple artist. ( and I vote!)

I intend to donate this painting to the Clinton Library or the family. Personally, I would be pleased if the painting made its way to the Clinton Peace Center in Enniskillen, a city where it was necessary to cross into the North to get to Dublin from where I lived in Ireland, but I'd be just as proud if it went over someone's mantle in New York or Arkansas.

As of this posting the title still evades me, but it will certainly be end up something akin to  "Thank you, Mr. President"
